Whispers of Country

In a time beyond time, the land breathed with memory, and the sky listened to the stories etched into the earth. This artwork tells the story of connection—between people, spirit, land, and sky.

The large concentric circles represent sacred meeting places where mobs would gather around fire, sharing Dreaming stories, laughter, and wisdom passed through generations. The U-shapes around them are the people, sitting and listening, holding space for each other.

The dotted patterns sweeping through the piece are the songlines—ancient paths that map the landscape and the ancestral stories that belong to it. Every dot, every mark, is a whisper of Country, guiding the way and grounding the people to where they belong.

The animal tracks show the movement of spirit beings, the ones who shaped the land. They remind us that we walk alongside their stories, and that every step we take should honour those who came before us.

The cool blues, earthy browns, and soft creams represent the balance of waterholes, sand, and sky—always shifting but always holding life.
